Welcome to ASLADECO Deaf Consultancy (Note from our Founder)
By Asanda Katshwa
Welcome, and thank you for visiting our digital home.
As a South African CODA, South African Sign Language (SASL) is not just my language—it’s the heartbeat of my identity, my culture, and my everyday life. This platform was created out of a deep need to bridge the worlds of Deaf, hearing, and Coda (Children of Deaf Adults) communities in a way that is inclusive, empowering, and rooted in lived experience.
Too often, Deaf people are spoken about, not with. Our aim is to change that.
Here, you’ll find a range of services designed to uplift and centre Deaf voices. We offer Deaf consultancy to businesses and organisations looking to build inclusive environments. Our Coda training and family coaching programmes provide tools and guidance to help families grow together in communication and understanding. We’re here to support, teach, and collaborate—with care, culture, and clarity.
This is more than a service space; it’s a community hub. A place for parents raising Deaf children, for CODAs navigating their unique identity, and for allies who want to engage with the Deaf world meaningfully.
You can expect regular blog articles, webinars, training opportunities, and resources in both SASL and written English. Our goal is to make this space accessible, warm, and real—a true reflection of the diversity and strength of Deaf culture in South Africa.
Whether you’re Deaf, hearing, or somewhere in between, we invite you to explore, connect, and learn with us. You belong here.
With hands, heart, and vision,
Founder, ASLADECO Deaf Consultancy
